My Choice Community Development, Inc. (My Choice) is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 to serve families of low-income communities. The organization’s mission is to strengthen and support families through capacity-building training and youth programs. My Choice is the result of a community survey conducted in 2000 to determine the primary needs of the residents of the Riviera Beach-Lake Park area, which were prioritized as after-school care, homework assistance, parenting skills, and job readiness skills.

Through its ASPIRE (After-School Program for Individual Reward and Excellence) program, My Choice offers a menu of services designed to enhance students’ academic abilities and strengthen families. ASPIRE provides:

  • Academic Enrichment Activities
  • Literacy Education
  • Character Development
  • Technology Training
  • Peer Leadership Training
  • Service Learning (Outreach)
  • Visual and Creative Arts
  • Parenting Classes

My Choice’s partners are many and include the Riviera Beach Weed and Seed, Prime Time of Palm Beach County, JAY Outreach ministries, the Community Action Council, Renaissance Village, Inc, Riviera Beach Kiwanis Club, and the Allegany Franciscan Foundation.

My Choice is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. For more information about the organization and a complete list of services, contact Ms. Altermease Kendrick, Executive/Center Director at (561) 844-1599.
