Community Outreach Partnership Center
In 1998, FAU-CURE was selected by the US Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of University
Partnerships, to be a Community Outreach Partnership Center
(COPC). As a nationally-recognized model in which universities
serve as a conduit for community revitalization, FAU-CURE
provided and continues to provide innovative solutions by
creating and developing partnerships with government agencies,
civic groups, and nonprofit organizations. With COPC funds,
the Center provided training in job skills, fair housing,
microenterprise, and related research initiatives.
